Cargo Droid Mistakenly Becomes Local Mayor on Remote Outer Rim Colony
By Vessa Korr, Outer Rim Holonet Correspondent
A routine administrative error has resulted in an unexpected leadership change on the remote colony of Varnis Reach, where a cargo droid has spent the last three months serving as the settlement’s official mayor.
The confusion began when colony officials attempted to register a newly arrived shipment management droid with the local government network. Due to an outdated identification database and a clerical mistake, the droid’s designation was entered into the public election system as a candidate rather than as a piece of industrial equipment.
According to settlement records, the droid, designated CR-8P, received the highest number of votes after residents selected it over several local candidates. Many citizens initially assumed the election results were a joke, but the colony’s outdated legal system recognized the vote as valid.
Despite having no previous political experience, CR-8P quickly gained approval among residents by organizing supply deliveries, improving cargo scheduling, and reducing administrative delays. "It doesn't argue, it doesn't make promises it cannot fulfill, and it always knows where the shipments are," said local resident Jessa Tumborstosteil. "That already puts it ahead of some officials we've had."
The Regional Administration Office has launched a review into the unusual election but confirmed that removing the droid from office would require a formal procedure. Officials also admitted that CR-8P’s approval ratings are currently higher than those of previous mayors.
For now, the cargo droid continues to manage the colony’s daily operations while officials debate whether Varnis Reach has discovered a legal loophole or simply found an unusually effective administrator.

PRESS RELEASE: Mister Oreanno Announces Revolutionary Jedi Hero Entrance System
For Immediate Distribution
Issued by Sha'ira Paradisho, Executive Assistant to Mister Oreanno
Covered by: Katera Or Do Moira
Mister Oreanno, the renowned inventor and industrialist, has announced his latest attempt to transform the way Jedi enter a room, with the introduction of the Oreanno Heroic Arrival System, a new technology designed to provide Jedi with what he describes as “the entrance they deserve.”
The system, developed over the past eighteen months, combines atmospheric controls, lighting, sound projection and holographic technology to create a dramatic environment whenever its owner enters a designated area. According to Mister Oreanno, the technology was inspired by what he considers a simple observation: Jedi regularly arrive to resolve dangerous situations, negotiate with hostile parties or protect civilians, yet their entrances remain “remarkably ordinary.”
“A Jedi walks through a door,” Mister Oreanno explained. “That is what a merchant does. That is what a Senator does. That is what my accountant does. A Jedi is a hero. A hero should make an entrance.”
The system can adjust lighting, create controlled air movement and project musical arrangements according to the user's selected arrival profile.
Optional holographic effects can also be activated, including the display of personal insignias and other visual effects.
According to Sha'ira Paradisho, Mister Oreanno's executive assistant, the inventor has already tested several versions of the system at his private residence.
“Mister Oreanno has personally conducted more than six hundred entrance trials,” she said. “He has entered through the same doorway in seventeen different robes, from six different directions, and at three different walking speeds.”
The results, she added, have been “mixed.”
One early prototype reportedly generated a gust of wind when Mister Oreanno entered the room, sending documents across the floor and knocking a decorative sculpture from a nearby table. Another activated its holographic display several seconds before the inventor had actually entered.
The current version is said to be considerably more reliable.
Mister Oreanno has designed the system primarily with Jedi in mind, although the company says it could eventually be adapted for private residences, entertainment venues and diplomatic facilities. Several presets have already been developed specifically for Jedi Knights and Masters, including “Calm Arrival,” “Diplomatic Entrance” and “Immediate Threat.”
The latter reportedly includes stronger lighting, atmospheric effects and a musical composition described by Paradisho as “dramatically excessive.”
There is currently no indication that the Jedi Order has expressed interest in the product.
Mister Oreanno nevertheless remains optimistic.
“Eventually, they will understand,” he said. “I am not asking them to change who they are. I am simply suggesting that when a Jedi arrives, the galaxy should have the courtesy to notice.”
The Oreanno Heroic Arrival System is expected to enter limited production later this year. Mister Oreanno has already announced plans for additional versions intended for Republic officials, military commanders and what the company describes as “persons of considerable personal significance.”
About Oreanno Industries:
Oreanno Industries is a privately held galactic conglomerate founded by inventor and industrialist Mister Oreanno. The company has developed products across numerous commercial sectors, with a history of both major successes and considerably less successful ventures.

Mandalore’s Maverick: Shae Vizla’s Daring Prison Break
In an astonishing turn of events, sources report that renowned Mandalorian operative Shae Vizla orchestrated a high-risk operation to break Sith Lord Darth Malgus out of a heavily guarded Republic prison. The move, which unfolded in the shadow of the Outer Rim, has sent shockwaves through both Republic security forces and the underworld of Mandalore.
According to an exclusive report from the Galactic Times, the operation was executed with meticulous planning. “Vizla’s precision and timing were extraordinary,” noted an anonymous Republic intelligence officer. “It’s not every day you see a prison break so well-coordinated that even the most secure installations were left scrambling.”
Further insights provided by classified reports reveal that Vizla’s motivations might run deeper than simple allegiance to her people. “This wasn’t just about freeing Malgus,” the article explains. “It appears to be a calculated political statement. A challenge to Republic authority and an assertion of Mandalorian independence in turbulent times.”
While details remain sketchy, sources close to the operation confirm that a specialized team of elite fighters provided cover during the extraction, ensuring that Malgus, long known for his formidable power and controversial past, was safely spirited away. Republic officials have vowed a full investigation, and tensions in the region are expected to escalate as the fallout continues.
For now, the galaxy watches with bated breath as this unprecedented breach of security fuels further debates about loyalty, power, and the true nature of freedom in these dark times.

Jedi Dismantle Major Sentient Trafficking Network
By Talen Voss, Galactic Tribune Correspondent
A major criminal network responsible for trafficking more than four million sentient beings across the galaxy has been dismantled following an extensive investigation led by Jedi Knights and Republic authorities. The operation, which is believed to have uncovered one of the largest trafficking organizations in recent history, resulted in numerous arrests and the recovery of hundreds of victims.
Investigators say the network operated across multiple sectors, using forged identities, concealed transport routes and intermediaries to move victims between worlds. Records recovered during the investigation indicate that individuals from numerous species were targeted, with Twi'lek communities among those most heavily affected.
Authorities discovered evidence that children were abducted from Twi'lek settlements and colonies before being transported to distant worlds. Many were given false identities and separated from their families, in some cases remaining unaccounted for years.
The investigation also uncovered evidence that victims were trafficked for forced labor, domestic service and other forms of exploitation. Male victims were also reportedly coerced into providing companionship and sexual services, with investigators identifying a number of wealthy and influential clients among those who purchased their services.
According to Republic officials, the investigation began with a series of apparently unrelated missing-person cases. Jedi Knights investigating several of the disappearances identified connections between the cases, eventually leading investigators toward a much larger organization operating across several jurisdictions.
The subsequent investigation resulted in coordinated raids on multiple facilities believed to be connected to the network. Republic security forces and Jedi Knights reportedly moved against several locations simultaneously, preventing suspects from destroying records or relocating victims before the authorities arrived.
Hundreds of victims have since been placed under the protection of Republic authorities and support organizations. Investigators are now working to establish their identities and, where possible, locate relatives who may have spent years believing them to be missing or dead.
The scale of the operation has also raised questions about how the network remained undetected for so long. Officials say its use of forged documentation and multiple transport routes allowed victims to be moved between planetary jurisdictions without immediately attracting attention.
“This organization was structured to make individual cases appear unrelated,” said Republic investigator Jalen Vasir. “Once those cases were examined together, the scale of the operation became considerably clearer.”
Authorities have arrested numerous suspected members of the network, although several individuals believed to have held senior positions remain at large. Investigators are also examining financial records and commercial holdings that may have been used to conceal profits from the trafficking operation.
Particular attention is being given to the fate of children taken from Twi'lek communities. Officials believe some victims may have been abducted at such a young age that they have little or no memory of their original homes, making efforts to identify their families especially difficult.
The investigation remains ongoing, with Republic authorities urging communities across the galaxy to report information concerning missing persons and suspected trafficking activity.
The Jedi Order has not commented publicly on the operation.
While officials caution that the full extent of the network has yet to be established, investigators believe the arrests have dealt a significant blow to one of the galaxy's largest known trafficking organizations.

Minbossa District Raid Raises Regional Security Concerns
By Jalen Rist, Galactic Tribune Correspondent
In the early hours of last night, an unprecedented raid rocked the Minbossa District, leaving local residents and officials scrambling for answers. While initial reports indicate that the incursion was meticulously planned, its origins and broader implications remain under close scrutiny by Republic security forces.
Government spokespeople confirmed that coordinated teams of unidentified operatives moved swiftly through the district’s labyrinthine streets. “We are investigating every lead,” stated Republic Security Council representative Tavik Drell during a press briefing. “Our priority is to restore stability and ensure the safety of Minbossa’s citizens.”
Eyewitnesses describe chaotic scenes as local establishments were forced to shutter in mere moments. “It felt like a military operation, not a random act of vandalism,” commented a local shopkeeper who requested anonymity. “People are frightened, and we need to know who is responsible.”
Independent sources within the intelligence community have suggested that the operation may have been part of a larger strategy by non-state actors seeking to destabilize the region. However, officials caution against drawing premature conclusions. “At this stage, we cannot confirm any ties to known criminal syndicates or external insurgent groups,” added Drell.
The raid’s timing has also sparked discussion among regional experts. Dr. Mara Ventis, a political analyst at the Core Worlds Institute of Security, noted, “This incident occurs at a sensitive moment in our galaxy’s history. With tensions simmering on multiple fronts, even a localized disruption like this could be symptomatic of larger undercurrents at play.”
As Republic investigators work tirelessly to piece together the events that transpired, community leaders in Minbossa District are urging calm and unity. A town hall meeting is scheduled for tomorrow evening, where residents can voice concerns and receive updates on the ongoing investigation.
While questions remain, this incident marks yet another reminder of the complex security challenges faced by our galaxy. The full scope of the raid and its ramifications are still emerging, and the coming days will be critical in determining the path forward for Minbossa District and the surrounding regions.

Corellian Assembly Demands Greater Republic Relief as Reconstruction Costs Soar
By Suso Karn, Senate Affairs Correspondent
The Corellian Assembly has demanded a substantial increase in Republic relief funding after the estimated cost of rebuilding the planet following two Sith Imperial invasions rose to 275 trillion credits. The figure is considerably higher than earlier projections and has prompted growing frustration among Corellian representatives in the Galactic Senate.
The latest assessment includes damage to transportation networks, industrial facilities, hospitals, utilities and civilian infrastructure across Corellia. Assembly officials say existing relief agreements will not be sufficient to complete the reconstruction effort.
“We have already paid for these invasions with the lives and livelihoods of our citizens,” said Assembly representative Coren Valis. “Corellia should not now be expected to carry the financial burden of rebuilding what was destroyed in the defense of the Republic.”
Republic officials have acknowledged the revised estimate but have not committed to providing the full amount requested. With military spending increasing following the outbreak of renewed hostilities with the Sith Empire, Republic treasury officials are expected to face considerable pressure over any additional reconstruction package.
The disagreement has now begun to affect legislation before the Senate.
Corellia currently holds enough influence within the Senate to play a decisive role in the passage of a proposed medical funding bill that would apply to Republic worlds across the galaxy. Corellian representatives have indicated that they may withhold their support for the measure unless an agreement over reconstruction funding is reached.
The position could prevent the legislation from advancing, effectively allowing the Corellian delegation to delay consideration of the bill until its demands are addressed.
“We are being asked to approve legislation affecting every Republic citizen while our own people are still waiting for the basic resources needed to recover,” said Assembly member Lira Dorne. “If Corellia is expected to support the measure, then Corellia's concerns must be addressed as part of that discussion.”
The proposed medical legislation has become particularly important to the Republic, with supporters arguing that it would expand access to medical services and provide additional funding to hospitals across member worlds. Any prolonged disagreement could therefore affect medical policy well beyond Corellia.
Senate observers say the situation has placed the Republic government in an increasingly difficult position. Rejecting Corellia's demands could delay legislation considered important by other member worlds, while accepting the full 275 trillion credit request would place significant additional pressure on the Republic's already strained finances.
Corellian representatives have so far stopped short of saying that they intend to oppose the medical bill permanently. Instead, Assembly officials have emphasized that their support will depend on progress being made on reconstruction funding.
For the moment, negotiations between Corellia and Republic officials continue. Neither side has indicated that it is prepared to abandon its position, leaving the proposed medical legislation dependent on an agreement that may now extend well beyond the issue of healthcare.

Kessan’s Landing Under Fire: Unrest on the Frontier
By Jalen Rist, Galactic Tribune Correspondent
Late last night, chaos erupted at Kessan’s Landing as a coordinated assault left this strategic frontier outpost in disarray. Republic authorities and local administrators are now working to piece together the events and ascertain the incursion's broader implications.
According to a briefing from the Republic High Command, unidentified insurgents launched a surprise attack on several key installations at Kessan’s Landing. “This was a calculated breach of our security protocols,” stated Colonel Maris Kel of the Republic High Command during an early-morning update. “Our teams are mobilized to restore order and protect civilian lives.”
Local merchants and residents, meanwhile, recounted scenes of sudden violence and confusion. “I witnessed bright flashes and heard the distinct hum of energy weapons. This wasn’t the work of mere vandals,” said a shop owner on the ground who preferred to remain anonymous. “Our community is reeling, and questions abound about who is behind this assault.”
Intelligence reports from the Outer Rim Observatory suggest that the attackers executed their operation with remarkable precision. Dr. Nessa Vol, a senior analyst with the Observatory, commented, “The raid appears to be part of a broader strategy aimed at destabilizing our presence in the outer sectors. The methodology indicates a level of coordination that points to experienced operatives, although definitive affiliations remain unclear.”
In response to the incident, a joint investigative task force comprising representatives from the Senate Intelligence Bulletin and local law enforcement has been dispatched to Kessan’s Landing. Their mission is to uncover the origins of the attack and evaluate potential connections to insurgent groups active in the region.
As Republic investigators continue their probe, community leaders have called for calm and urged citizens to attend an emergency town hall meeting later today. The hope is that transparent communication will help assuage public fears and provide a clearer picture of the unfolding situation.
While many details remain in flux, tonight’s events underscore the fragile balance of power on the frontier and the ever-present challenge of maintaining security in a turbulent galaxy.

Explorer Returns From Unknown Region With Nothing but a Strange Collection of Hats
By Talen Voss, Galactic Exploration Correspondent
After spending nearly six months beyond established Republic navigation charts, independent explorer Rugg the Talz has returned to known space carrying what may be the galaxy’s most unusual collection of souvenirs: thirty-seven unidentified hats.
Rugg the Talz, who departed on an expedition beyond the Outer Rim in search of uncharted worlds, was expected to return with geological samples, star maps, or evidence of unknown civilizations. Instead, the explorer presented researchers with a collection of headwear gathered from various settlements encountered during the journey.
"I did find new systems, unusual landscapes, and several species previously unknown to Republic databases," Rugg the Talz explained during a press conference. "But every culture I met had one thing in common: they made remarkable hats."
The collection includes woven ceremonial coverings, lightweight atmospheric protection gear, and several designs whose original purpose remains unclear. Republic xenologists have begun studying the items to determine whether they represent cultural symbols, practical equipment, or simply local fashion.
Some researchers have criticized Rugg the Talz' decision to prioritize collecting clothing over scientific samples, while others argue that cultural discoveries are equally valuable. "A civilization can tell you more about itself through what it creates than what it mines," noted Professor Elian Hasson of the Galactic Anthropology Institute.
Rugg the Talz has announced plans to display the collection in a traveling exhibition, with proceeds supporting future exploration missions.

Undercover Jedi Uncovers Slave Labor Scheme Behind 25 Million Credit Embezzlement
By Talen Voss, Galactic Tribune Correspondent
A Republic investigation into the embezzlement of more than 25 million credits has uncovered an extensive slave labor operation on Sleheyron, after an undercover Jedi Knight helped expose the company executive believed to be responsible for the scheme.
The investigation began when Republic financial authorities identified irregularities in the accounts of a major furniture manufacturer. More than 25 million credits had reportedly been diverted from company funds over several years, with the missing money concealed through falsified invoices and payments to shell companies.
Investigators initially believed the case to be a straightforward financial crime. That changed after an undercover Jedi Knight was assigned to investigate the company's wider operations and discovered evidence of an undisclosed production facility on Sleheyron.
According to investigators, the facility employed enslaved workers to manufacture specialized furniture components, including decorative woodwork and structural fittings later supplied to manufacturers throughout the Republic. Workers were reportedly transported to the facility against their will and forced to work under harsh conditions without compensation.
The company executive at the center of the investigation was arrested after the Jedi's undercover operation provided Republic authorities with sufficient evidence to intervene. Officials say the arrest prevented the destruction of financial records and other evidence connecting the company's senior management to the Sleheyron operation.
Further investigation has since revealed that the 25 million credits were only part of a much larger scheme. Financial investigators believe company funds were diverted through a network of intermediaries, while profits from the use of unpaid labor were concealed through falsified production records.
“The initial allegation concerned embezzlement,” said Republic financial investigator Orrs Redraw. “What we uncovered on Sleheyron was considerably more serious. The financial records ultimately provided the link between the company's missing funds and its illegal production network.”
Authorities have begun working to identify the enslaved workers and determine where they originated. Officials say the investigation may also lead to additional arrests as investigators examine the company's suppliers and commercial partners.
The company has since been placed under Republic investigation, while several of its assets have been frozen pending further proceedings. Authorities are also examining whether other manufacturers knowingly purchased components produced at the Sleheyron facility.
The Jedi Order has not commented publicly on the operation or the identity of the Knight involved.
For Republic investigators, however, the case has demonstrated how financial crimes can conceal considerably broader criminal operations. What initially appeared to be the theft of 25 million credits has instead exposed a network involving embezzlement, illegal production and the exploitation of enslaved workers.

Coruscant Casino Ransacked Following Record-Breaking 768 Million Credit Payout
By Kytto Thane, Coruscant Chronicle Correspondent
A prominent casino on Coruscant was ransacked early this morning after an unidentified patron walked away with more than 768 million credits in what officials are calling the largest recorded single payout on the planet in nearly 450 years. The incident occurred only hours after the winning bet was settled.
The casino, located in one of the entertainment districts of Galactic City, was reportedly operating normally when the winner claimed the extraordinary sum. According to casino officials, the payout followed a prolonged game at one of the establishment's high-stakes tables, although the identity of the winner has not been released.
Coruscant Gaming Commission records indicate that the payout is the largest publicly documented casino win since the early days of the modern Galactic Republic's financial archives. “We have reviewed the available records and have not identified a larger confirmed payout within the last several centuries,” said Commission representative Hardeen Jago. “The circumstances surrounding this particular game are now being examined.”
The situation changed several hours later when a group of individuals forced their way into the casino and began destroying equipment and searching private offices. Security systems were disabled during the incident, allowing the group to gain access to restricted areas before local authorities arrived.
Casino owner Hredac, who was present during the attack, said the establishment suffered extensive damage to gaming tables, security equipment and several administrative areas. “They were not interested in the tables themselves,” he said. “They were looking for something, and we believe the payout may have been the reason.”
Authorities have not confirmed whether the attackers were attempting to locate the winning credits or information concerning the identity of the winner. The casino has declined to comment on whether the money remained on its premises after the payout was processed.
Investigators are currently reviewing security recordings and financial records from the evening. Officials have also confirmed that several individuals connected to the casino are being questioned, although no arrests have yet been announced.
The extraordinary payout has already attracted considerable attention across Coruscant, with speculation surrounding the identity of the winner and the circumstances of the game spreading through local entertainment networks. The casino has temporarily suspended operations while investigators assess the damage and determine whether additional security measures are required.
For now, the winner remains unidentified and the fate of the 768 million credits is unknown. What is certain is that a single evening of gambling has turned one of Coruscant's better-known casinos into the center of an investigation that could continue for some time.

Galaxy's Favorite Comedy Duo Announces Sudden Split After Years on the HoloNet Circuit
By Lira Venn, Galactic Entertainment Correspondent
The galaxy's most unlikely comedy partnership has come to an unexpected end, with the popular stand-up duo known as The Tusks and Wings announcing that they will no longer perform together. The Gamorrean and Geonosian comedians have entertained audiences across the galaxy for years, becoming a favorite among everyone from Outer Rim settlers to some of the Republic's most powerful officials.
The pair, whose contrasting appearances and comedic styles became a central part of their performances, first gained attention performing in small cantinas before their act spread across the HoloNet. Their tours eventually took them from Coruscant and the Core Worlds to Hutt-controlled territories and remote Outer Rim settlements.
Their popularity reached an unusual level in recent years, with the duo reportedly receiving invitations to perform for royalty, Hutt kajidics and senior Republic officials. Sources close to the performers also confirm that they have performed privately for the Supreme Chancellor herself, although details of the occasion have never been made public.
Fans were therefore surprised when the pair announced that their current tour would be their final appearance together.
Neither performer has provided a detailed explanation for the split. In a brief statement released through their representatives, the comedians said that the decision had been reached “after considerable discussion” and that both intended to continue working in the entertainment industry independently.
The announcement has already prompted an outpouring of reactions across the HoloNet. Several prominent entertainers have praised the duo's contribution to galactic comedy, while fans have begun calling for a final performance before the partnership officially ends.
A representative for the pair confirmed that several previously scheduled appearances remain under discussion, including a performance reportedly requested by a Hutt-controlled entertainment venue. Whether those appearances will proceed has not yet been confirmed.
For audiences who have followed the duo since their earliest performances, the split marks the end of one of the more unusual partnerships in modern galactic entertainment.
“They could walk into a room where nobody knew what to expect and have the entire place laughing within minutes,” said fellow comedian Joro Pell. “You simply don't see an act like that very often.”

Strange Ship Movements Around Ruhnuk Fuel Mandalorian Rumors
By Karry Ill Barlo
An unusual number of ships have reportedly been spotted arriving and departing from the remote world of Ruhnuk in recent days, prompting renewed speculation that Mandalorian forces may be gathering on the planet.
Local observers have reported seeing heavily armed vessels operating in and around the system, with some ships apparently avoiding established shipping routes and remaining in the area for only short periods before disappearing again.
There has been no official confirmation that the vessels are connected to any Mandalorian organization.
That has done little to quiet the rumors.
Ruhnuk has long been associated with Mandalorian activity, and several residents have claimed to have seen armored warriors moving through isolated areas of the planet. Other reports describe unusual communications traffic and ships arriving without identifying themselves to local authorities.
None of these reports have been independently confirmed.
Regional officials have so far declined to comment on the increased activity, stating only that they are aware of “unusual movements” around Ruhnuk and are monitoring the situation.
One local transport operator claimed that some of the vessels appeared to have been carrying Mandalorian equipment, although he admitted that he had only seen them from a distance.
Another resident suggested that the activity could be connected to a dispute between rival Mandalorian groups. Others have speculated that a larger confrontation may be approaching.
There is currently no evidence to support either claim.
Still, the continued arrival of ships has raised questions about what is happening on Ruhnuk and why so many vessels appear to be converging on the isolated world at the same time.
For now, authorities maintain that there is no confirmed threat to nearby systems.
But with Mandalorian rumors once again surrounding Ruhnuk, the lack of clear information has left plenty of room for speculation.

Pirate Warfare Escalates as Rival Crews Turn on Each Other
By Marrelo Justise, Former Republic Admiral and Military Affairs Correspondent
An extensive pirate network operating across Raxus Prime and surrounding systems has begun to collapse following a series of violent internal clashes that have left numerous pirate vessels destroyed and allowed Republic forces to make significant gains against the organization.
The pirate groups had spent weeks disrupting shipping routes throughout the region, attacking cargo vessels, raiding settlements and intercepting commercial traffic. Their activities had become increasingly coordinated, with multiple crews reportedly working together to overwhelm local security forces and seize valuable cargo.
That cooperation has now broken down.
According to Republic military officials, disputes between several of the pirate groups escalated into open fighting after disagreements over captured territory, supplies and the distribution of seized cargo. What began as isolated confrontations eventually developed into a larger battle between rival pirate formations.
Several pirate vessels were destroyed during the fighting, with some reportedly attacking one another before Republic forces entered the engagement.
The resulting chaos significantly weakened the organization. Republic patrols were able to move against several of the remaining groups while their forces were divided, destroying or disabling additional vessels and capturing a number of suspected pirates.
“This is the kind of situation military commanders look for when confronting a numerically superior irregular force,” said former Republic Admiral Caelith Varyn, now a military affairs analyst. “Their greatest advantage was coordination. Once that disappeared, each remaining group became considerably easier to isolate and engage.”
The fighting has already had a noticeable effect on shipping throughout the region. Several routes previously considered unsafe have begun reopening, although authorities continue to advise commercial operators to exercise caution while remaining pirate activity is investigated.
Raxus Prime has been among the areas most affected by the raids. Local authorities say numerous businesses suffered losses during the period of heightened pirate activity, while several transport operators were forced to suspend operations entirely.
Republic forces are now conducting operations against what remains of the organization. Officials believe that some pirate crews have attempted to flee the region following the destruction of their larger vessels, while others are believed to have abandoned their bases.
The final extent of the pirate network remains unclear. Investigators are continuing to examine captured vessels and communications equipment in an effort to determine how extensive the organization was and whether additional crews remain active elsewhere.
For now, however, the threat appears to have been significantly reduced. What had become a coordinated campaign of raids across Raxus Prime and nearby systems has instead turned into a series of isolated engagements, with Republic forces increasingly able to target individual groups.
The collapse has also provided a measure of relief for local shipping operators, although authorities warn that the region's security problems are unlikely to disappear immediately.

Dantooine Harvest Yields Nearly Double in Exceptional Growing Season
By Corin Deleuran, Outer Rim Correspondent
Farmers across Dantooine are celebrating an extraordinary harvest after preliminary figures indicate that agricultural yields have reached nearly twice their seasonal average. The unexpected abundance has already begun affecting local markets, storage facilities and commercial shipping schedules.
According to researchers at the Dantooine Environmental Observatory, the unusually productive season appears to have resulted from a rare combination of extended rainfall, stable temperatures and favorable soil conditions. “We have recorded an unusually consistent pattern across much of the planet,” said Chief Climatologist Halix Vorn. “The combination of factors is exceptionally uncommon, and there is no evidence at present that this represents a permanent change in Dantooine’s climate.”
Farming communities across the planet have reported unusually large yields of grain, root vegetables, fruit and medicinal crops. Several cooperatives have recorded harvests substantially larger than those of previous years. “We knew early on that something was different,” said farmer Talan Reev. “The fields stayed productive for longer, the crops matured quickly, and losses were remarkably low.”
The Dantooine Commerce Guild has confirmed a significant increase in agricultural shipments as producers attempt to distribute the surplus before local storage facilities reach capacity. Additional consignments are expected to reach markets throughout the Mid Rim, with some shipments already being redirected toward worlds experiencing temporary shortages.
Local authorities have responded by expanding storage capacity and coordinating additional freight traffic. The Dantooine Council has also announced plans to fund further research into the environmental conditions behind the exceptional season, although officials caution that there is no guarantee that similar conditions will return next year.
The sudden abundance is expected to provide a welcome economic boost to farming communities, while increased supplies could also bring lower food prices for local residents. Commerce officials have nevertheless warned that transporting and storing such a large surplus could prove challenging if production continues at its current rate.
For now, farmers across Dantooine are simply enjoying a season few expected to experience in their lifetimes. “You work the land every year hoping the conditions will be kind,” said Reev. “This year, they were kinder than anyone could have imagined.”

Senator Daal Ruun Arrested After Refugee Funds Linked to Four Secret Families
By Suso Karn, Senate Affairs Correspondent
Prominent Duros Senator Daal Ruun has been arrested and remanded to Republic custody following an investigation into the alleged misuse of millions of credits intended for refugee assistance. Investigators say funds administered through Ruun's office were diverted to finance an elaborate private life spanning four different Republic worlds.
The investigation began after Republic financial auditors identified irregularities in several refugee relief accounts overseen by the senator's office.
Funds intended for temporary housing, food supplies and medical assistance were reportedly transferred through private contractors and intermediary accounts before being diverted toward personal expenses.
What investigators uncovered was considerably more unusual than a conventional embezzlement case.
According to Republic authorities, Senator Ruun maintained four separate households on four different planets, with each family apparently unaware of the others. Investigators say Ruun had established a separate residence and personal identity on each world, presenting himself to the families as a successful businessman while continuing his political career on Coruscant.
Each household was reportedly provided with an exceptionally lavish residence. Financial records examined by investigators indicate that several of the properties were purchased or constructed using funds ultimately traced back to refugee assistance accounts.
Ruun allegedly maintained the arrangement for several years, traveling between the four worlds while using staff members and financial intermediaries to conceal his movements. Investigators believe the system was designed to prevent the four families from discovering one another while also concealing the source of the money used to support them.
“The scale of the financial activity was extraordinary,” said a Republic financial investigator familiar with the case. “Once the accounts were connected, it became clear that the money was being moved through a much larger network than we initially suspected.”
The investigation reportedly reached a turning point when auditors discovered that several refugee assistance payments had been routed through the same series of accounts. Further examination revealed that the accounts had been used to finance property purchases and other personal expenses across four separate planetary jurisdictions.
Republic authorities subsequently obtained warrants for Ruun's financial records and properties. The senator was arrested shortly afterward and has since been remanded to Republic custody pending further proceedings.
The identities of the four families have not been released. Officials say they are being provided protection and assistance while investigators determine how much they knew about Ruun's activities and the source of the funds supporting their households.
The arrest has caused considerable controversy within the Galactic Senate. Ruun was regarded as an influential member of the Senate and had previously participated in discussions concerning refugee policy and Republic financial assistance.
Several senators have called for an immediate review of Ruun's previous committee activities and financial dealings. Questions have also been raised over how the alleged diversion of refugee funds remained undetected for so long.
Republic authorities have frozen a number of Ruun's assets while attempting to recover the diverted funds. Investigators are also examining whether contractors, financial intermediaries or other officials knowingly assisted in concealing the transactions.
The Senate has declined to comment on Ruun's political future while criminal proceedings remain ongoing.
For the refugees whose assistance was allegedly diverted, however, the investigation has highlighted a particularly troubling consequence. Funds intended to provide shelter, food and medical assistance to people displaced by conflict may instead have helped finance four separate households and a life of extraordinary luxury.

Sith Forces Invade Manaan as Kolto Dispute Escalates Into Open War
By Carin Deleuran, Outer Rim Correspondent
The fragile peace surrounding Manaan has collapsed after Sith Imperial forces launched a major invasion of the waterworld, sending warships and assault craft into the planet’s surrounding space in an operation aimed at securing its vital kolto reserves. Republic forces have moved to support the Selkath and prevent the Empire from gaining control of the planet’s medical resources.
The invasion follows growing tensions between the Sith Empire and Manaan’s Selkath population over the planet’s kolto trade. While Manaan has long supplied kolto to powers across the galaxy, the Selkath have maintained strict control over the resource and recently limited Imperial procurement. Imperial officials have reportedly regarded the restrictions as deliberate retaliation for the Empire’s previous attacks on Manaan.
Imperial forces appear to have entered the system with considerable preparation. Multiple capital ships and fighter formations have been observed engaging Republic vessels near Manaan, while additional Imperial units have moved toward facilities associated with kolto production and distribution.
Republic military officials have confirmed that defensive forces are being deployed to assist the Selkath and prevent the seizure of the planet’s supply.
“This is no longer a dispute over trade,” said a Republic military representative speaking on condition of anonymity. “The Empire has made its intentions clear. They intend to take control of Manaan’s kolto, and they are prepared to use military force to achieve it.”
The Selkath government has historically threatened to destroy its own kolto reserves rather than allow an occupying power to control them. That policy has made Manaan particularly difficult to subjugate, as any attempt to seize the planet’s resources risks destroying the very commodity the Empire seeks to obtain.
Imperial authorities have offered little indication that they intend to abandon the operation. Darth Xarion, one of the Sith leaders overseeing the campaign, has issued a stark warning to the Selkath. “If the collective memory of the Selkath fails to recall the Empire's last demonstration of power, then new lessons will be visited upon them.”
The statement has intensified fears among Selkath communities that the invasion may extend beyond the seizure of kolto. Regional observers warn that prolonged fighting could threaten civilian settlements, commercial operations and the fragile balance that has allowed Manaan to remain an important supplier to competing galactic powers.
Republic commanders have meanwhile urged restraint from the Selkath while promising continued military assistance. With Imperial and Republic forces now operating in close proximity around the waterworld, further clashes appear increasingly likely.
For Manaan, a planet that has spent generations attempting to keep the wider conflicts of the galaxy at a distance, the latest invasion represents a dangerous return to the turmoil it has sought to avoid. The coming days may determine not only who controls Manaan’s kolto, but whether the Selkath can preserve their independence in the face of another Imperial assault.

Power Shortages Spark Riots Across Saleucami
By Carin Deleuran, Outer Rim Correspondent
Widespread power failures across Saleucami have triggered protests and violent clashes in several population centers, after multiple aging power grids shut down within a matter of days. Local authorities have struggled to restore electricity to affected communities, while residents have taken to the streets demanding immediate action.
The disruptions began after several major generating stations experienced simultaneous failures. According to the Saleucami Utilities Authority, much of the planet's electrical infrastructure was installed decades ago and has suffered from years of inadequate maintenance. Officials say the failures were not caused by a single incident, but by a series of breakdowns that have placed the entire grid under increasing strain.
As outages spread, essential services were affected across several districts. Hospitals have reported difficulties maintaining backup power, food distribution centers have been forced to reduce operations and communications networks have experienced repeated interruptions. Local businesses have also closed as refrigeration, lighting and payment systems became unreliable.
Public frustration intensified after authorities announced that repairs could take weeks in some areas. “People are being told to wait while their homes have no power and basic services are becoming harder to access,” said one resident who attended a demonstration in Saleucami City. “Everyone understands that the equipment is old. What people don't understand is why nothing was done before it reached this point.”
Protests initially remained peaceful, with residents gathering outside government buildings and utility offices. Several demonstrations later escalated into clashes with security forces after crowds attempted to block major roads and prevent utility crews from leaving affected districts.
Local authorities have confirmed arrests but have not released a complete figure. Officials have urged residents to avoid further violence and warned that damage to electrical infrastructure could make the situation even more difficult to resolve.
The Saleucami Utilities Authority has since begun emergency repairs while requesting additional equipment and technical assistance from neighboring systems. Officials say priority is being given to hospitals, water facilities and major food distribution centers, although restoring full service across all affected communities is expected to take considerably longer.
Regional officials have also acknowledged that Saleucami's aging infrastructure represents a broader problem for the planet. Several sections of the electrical network have reportedly exceeded their intended operational lifespan, raising concerns that further failures could occur even after the current crisis is resolved.
For residents already facing days without reliable electricity, however, those assurances have done little to ease frustration. With protests continuing in several cities and repairs still underway, authorities now face growing pressure to address not only the immediate shortages but the deteriorating infrastructure that caused them.

Jedi Stop Cult Linked to Ritual Sacrifices on Rodia
By Teryn Vael, Galactic Affairs Correspondent
A local religious human driven cult on Rodia has been dismantled following a Jedi-led investigation into a series of disappearances that authorities now believe were connected to ritual sacrifices.
Republic authorities confirmed that the group had been operating in an isolated settlement for some time, where members reportedly believed that sacrificing elderly Rodians would grant them supernatural abilities.
Investigators discovered evidence of several ritual sites containing remains believed to belong to elderly members of the local community. Authorities believe the victims were deliberately selected because the cult considered age to be connected to spiritual power.
The investigation came to an end after Jedi intervened and apprehended members of the group before another sacrifice could take place.
Republic officials have confirmed that several suspects are now in custody and that additional arrests may follow as investigators work to determine how long the cult had been operating and how many victims may have been involved.
The discovery has caused outrage across Rodia, particularly among families whose elderly relatives had been reported missing.
“This has been an extremely difficult discovery for the community,” said a representative of the Rodian authorities. “Our elders are not commodities, and their lives are not something that can be taken in pursuit of superstition.”
Rodian officials have expressed their gratitude that the investigation brought the group's activities to an end, while also calling for a wider investigation into whether similar groups may be operating elsewhere on the planet.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims while their families are being notified.
The Jedi involved in the investigation have not commented publicly on the case.
For many on Rodia, the immediate concern is now the families left behind and the unanswered questions surrounding those who disappeared. Officials have promised that the investigation will continue until the full extent of the cult's activities is known.

Republic Claims Victory at Cato Neimoidia Following Heavy Losses
By Marrelo Justise, Former Republic Admiral and Military Affairs Correspondent
The Republic has claimed a costly victory at Cato Neimoidia after a major battle brought the ongoing war directly to one of the galaxy's most important commercial worlds.
Republic forces managed to hold their positions and drive back the attacking fleet, but the victory came at a heavy price. Numerous Republic vessels were destroyed during the fighting, with casualty figures still being compiled as damaged ships return to nearby staging areas.
The battle began after Imperial forces launched a major assault against Republic positions around Cato Neimoidia. Fighting quickly spread across the planet's orbital space, with Republic and Imperial starfighters engaging across the world's distinctive bridge cities.
Republic commanders eventually succeeded in breaking the Imperial advance and forcing the remaining Imperial vessels to withdraw from the area.
“It was a victory,” said former Republic Admiral Marrelo Justise. “But anyone looking at the losses and calling it an easy one would be doing a disservice to the people who fought there.”
Republic officials have not yet released a complete casualty figure. Several military hospitals in nearby systems have reportedly been placed on emergency footing to receive wounded personnel, while recovery crews continue searching for survivors from ships lost during the battle.
The fighting has also caused significant disruption to civilian traffic around Cato Neimoidia. Commercial shipping has been temporarily restricted in several areas while Republic forces clear debris and investigate damaged infrastructure.
For the Republic, the battle represents an important defensive success at a time when the renewed conflict has continued to spread across the galaxy. Cato Neimoidia's position and extensive commercial connections make the world particularly important to regional trade, and the loss of Republic control would have carried consequences far beyond the battlefield.
But the victory has done little to ease concerns about the wider war.
Cato Neimoidia is now another name being added to an increasingly long list of worlds affected by the renewed conflict. For the soldiers returning from the battle, the celebrations surrounding a military victory are likely to be accompanied by the absence of those who will not be returning with them.
Republic forces remain on alert around Cato Neimoidia as commanders assess the damage and prepare for the possibility of another Imperial assault.
The battle may have ended in a Republic victory, but for many families across the Republic, the cost of that victory is only beginning to become clear.

Senator Daal Ruun Announces Major Refugee Assistance Initiative
By Suso Karn, Senate Affairs Correspondent
Prominent Duros Senator Daal Ruun has announced the creation of a new Republic-wide refugee assistance initiative, promising billions of credits in additional funding for displaced families across the galaxy.
The initiative, named the Republic Refugee Recovery Fund, is intended to provide financial assistance to refugees affected by recent conflicts, with funding directed toward temporary housing, medical treatment, food supplies and the reconstruction of communities damaged by war.
Speaking before the Senate this week, Ruun described the program as one of the most important projects of his political career.
“No citizen should be left without a home simply because war has taken it from them,” Ruun said. “The Republic has a responsibility to ensure that those who have lost everything are given the opportunity to rebuild their lives.”
Under the proposal, the fund would initially receive 18 billion credits, with additional contributions expected from participating Republic worlds and private donors.
The announcement was met with widespread praise from members of the Senate, with politicians from several major Republic worlds expressing support for the initiative.
Senator Ruun has spent much of his recent political career advocating for greater assistance to displaced populations, particularly those forced from their homes by military conflicts and political instability.
Several senators described the initiative as an example of the kind of cooperation needed to address the growing refugee crisis.
“Senator Ruun has reminded us that the Republic is more than its borders and institutions,” said one senior senator following the announcement. “It is a community, and we have an obligation to look after those who have been left vulnerable.”
Others were even more direct in their praise, with several senators referring to Ruun as a hero for placing refugee assistance at the center of his political agenda.
The proposed fund would operate through existing Republic relief agencies, with local authorities expected to identify communities and individuals most in need of assistance. Support would be distributed according to the severity of local conditions and the number of displaced residents.
Ruun has also called upon wealthy Republic worlds and private corporations to contribute to the fund, arguing that government resources alone may not be sufficient to address the scale of the crisis.
The senator's office has already begun accepting private contributions, and several prominent industrialists and planetary governments are reportedly considering donations.
For refugees living in temporary settlements across the Republic, the announcement offers the possibility of greater access to basic necessities and a more secure path toward permanent resettlement.
The Senate is expected to continue discussions on the initiative in the coming weeks, with Ruun calling for the first payments to be made as soon as the necessary administrative arrangements are completed.
“The Republic has rebuilt worlds before,” Ruun told the Senate. “We can rebuild lives as well.”

Republic Forces Break Up Major Spice Ring on Taspir III
By Marrelo Justise, Former Republic Admiral and Military Affairs Correspondent
Republic forces have dismantled a major criminal spice operation on Taspir III following an investigation that uncovered extensive production and distribution networks operating across the planet. The operation was assisted by a Jedi Master and two Padawans, who first discovered evidence linking several apparently unrelated criminal activities to a larger organization.
The investigation reportedly began after Republic authorities were alerted to unusual activity surrounding several commercial facilities on Taspir III. Initial inquiries focused on suspected smuggling, but investigators soon uncovered evidence of large-scale spice production and distribution.
According to Republic officials, the organization had established a network of warehouses and concealed facilities across several regions of the planet. Spice was reportedly transported through legitimate commercial routes before being distributed to criminal groups operating both on Taspir III and in neighboring systems.
The involvement of the Jedi came during the early stages of the investigation. A Jedi Master and two Padawans were assisting Republic personnel with a separate matter when they discovered evidence that eventually led investigators toward the larger operation. Their findings allowed Republic authorities to identify several locations believed to be connected to the spice network.
A coordinated operation was subsequently launched against the organization.
Republic forces raided multiple facilities simultaneously, seizing large quantities of illegal spice and arresting numerous suspected members of the network. Authorities also recovered financial records and shipping information that may help investigators identify additional participants and distribution routes.
“This was a well-established operation,” said former Republic Admiral Marrelo Justise. “The important thing from a military perspective is that the Republic did not simply intercept a shipment. They were able to identify the infrastructure supporting the trade and strike several parts of it at once.”
Investigators believe the organization had been operating on Taspir III for an extended period. Several legitimate businesses are now being examined for possible connections to the network, although authorities have stressed that there is currently no evidence that all businesses identified during the investigation were knowingly involved.
The scale of the operation has also raised concerns among officials about the amount of spice that may have been moving through Taspir III before the investigation began. Republic authorities have not released an exact valuation of the seized material, but described the quantity as substantial.
Several suspected distribution routes have since been placed under additional security, while Republic customs officials have begun reviewing recent shipments entering and leaving the planet.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out further arrests.
The Jedi Order has not commented publicly on the operation or the involvement of the Jedi Master and two Padawans.
Republic officials have likewise declined to discuss the precise circumstances of their involvement beyond confirming that the Jedi assisted investigators during the operation.
For the Republic, the seizure represents a significant disruption to an established criminal network and provides investigators with an opportunity to trace the organization's wider connections.

PRESS RELEASE: Mister Oreanno Announces New Jedi Fashion Initiative
For Immediate Distribution
Issued by Sha'ira Paradisho, Executive Assistant to Mister Oreanno
Covered by: Katera Or Do Moira.
Mister Oreanno, the inventor, industrialist and entrepreneur whose personal fortune is estimated at more than one trillion credits, today announced the creation of Oreanno Ascendant, a new fashion enterprise dedicated to what he describes as “the modernization of Jedi attire.”
Mister Oreanno has spent decades developing and financing inventions across the galaxy, with varying degrees of commercial success. His portfolio includes household technology, industrial equipment, transportation systems and several products that, according to company records, “performed admirably in testing but demonstrated limited enthusiasm among consumers.”
Despite this, Mister Oreanno remains one of the wealthiest private individuals in the galaxy.
His latest venture is considerably more ambitious.
According to Mister Oreanno, Jedi fashion has remained unnecessarily conservative despite the increasingly prominent role of Jedi throughout the galaxy.
“Jedi are heroes,” Mister Oreanno said. “Heroes should look heroic.”
The first Oreanno Ascendant collection will attempt to combine traditional Jedi garments with more elaborate cuts, richer fabrics and distinctive detailing. The company is currently developing ceremonial robes, travel garments, formal tunics and redesigned utility attire intended to remain practical while offering what Mister Oreanno describes as “a little more spectacle.”
“We are not replacing tradition,” Mister Oreanno explained. “We are improving its presentation.”
Mister Oreanno has reportedly taken an unusually personal interest in the project. More than four hundred prototypes have already been produced, with the inventor personally approving, rejecting or redesigning many of them.
“He has very strong opinions about sleeves,” said Sha'ira Paradisho, Mister Oreanno's executive assistant and spokesperson for the company.
According to Ms. Paradisho, several early designs were rejected because Mister Oreanno considered them “insufficiently heroic.” Others were reportedly abandoned after he determined that they made their wearers “look like agricultural administrators.”
The company has not yet secured any formal agreement with the Jedi Order, and there is currently no indication that the Order has endorsed the collection.
Mister Oreanno nevertheless remains confident that Jedi will eventually appreciate the initiative.
“I have tremendous respect for their work,” he said. “They spend their lives protecting civilization. Surely civilization can provide them with something better to wear.”
The initial collection is expected to include garments in a wide variety of colors, materials and styles, although the company has declined to reveal the complete range before its official launch.
Mister Oreanno has also reportedly commissioned several particularly elaborate designs intended for Jedi Masters, although Ms. Paradisho declined to confirm whether any of the designs have been approved for production.
“Mister Oreanno believes that if someone has spent forty years becoming a Jedi Master, they should at least have a coat that makes this fact immediately apparent,” she said.
Oreanno Ascendant is expected to begin accepting private orders later this year.
About Oreanno Ascendant:
Oreanno Ascendant is a newly established fashion enterprise founded by inventor and industrialist Mister Oreanno. The company is dedicated to developing contemporary attire for Jedi and other individuals whose professions require them to “look considerably more impressive than they currently do.”

Meridian Complex Survives Imperial Assault as War Returns to Corellia
By Sera Venn, Galactic Times Correspondent
The Republic has successfully defended the Meridian Complex on Corellia after a major Sith Imperial fleet launched a full-scale assault on the newly constructed shipyard. The battle, which involved multiple fleets and heavy fighting both in orbit and on the planet's surface, ended with Imperial forces withdrawing from the system.
The attack represents one of the first major engagements of the renewed conflict between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire, a development that has already raised concerns across the galaxy. For worlds still recovering from the devastation of the Eternal Empire's conquest and earlier wars, the return of large-scale fighting has been met with growing unease.
The Meridian Complex was constructed as part of the Republic's efforts to rebuild its naval capabilities. The facility is expected to dramatically increase the Republic's ability to produce new warships, making its survival particularly important as both sides prepare for what could become a prolonged conflict.
Imperial forces reportedly learned of the facility before it became fully operational and assembled a large fleet for the assault. Republic commanders were able to mobilize defensive forces, although several fleets were required to make refueling stops before reaching Corellia.
The Imperial attack began with a major fleet engagement around the planet. While Republic vessels fought the main Imperial force, another Imperial fleet conducted an orbital bombardment of Corellia in an apparent attempt to draw defenders away from the Meridian Complex.
The arrival of additional Republic-aligned forces helped prevent the Imperial fleet from gaining control of the system. Fighting nevertheless continued as Imperial troops reached the surface and attempted to penetrate the Meridian Complex.
Republic officials have confirmed that the assault caused damage to the facility, although its main systems remain operational. Fighting around the complex was eventually brought under control, allowing its defensive systems to be restored and brought back online.
Once the Meridian Complex resumed firing capability, Imperial forces came under fire from the shipyard itself while already engaged with Republic vessels. Imperial commanders subsequently ordered their fleets to withdraw from Corellian space.
The Republic has described the outcome as a significant defensive victory, but officials have also acknowledged the cost of the battle. Casualty figures remain incomplete as emergency services continue treating wounded personnel and assessing damage to military and civilian infrastructure.
For Corellian residents, the battle has brought renewed memories of previous conflicts. Many communities on the planet have spent years rebuilding after earlier wars, and the prospect of another prolonged confrontation between the Republic and Sith Empire has caused concern among civilians and local authorities.
“This is not what people here wanted to see again,” said Corellian civic representative Sytii Orlan. “We have spent years rebuilding our communities. Now people are wondering how long it will be before the next attack.”
Military analysts believe the Meridian Complex will remain a priority target for the Empire. Its ability to increase Republic ship production could prove decisive if the renewed conflict develops into a prolonged war, making its defense an immediate concern for Republic High Command.
The battle has also demonstrated the scale of the forces that both sides are now willing to commit. With the Republic and Sith Empire once again mobilizing across contested regions, concerns are growing that the fighting around Corellia may be only the beginning of a much larger conflict.
For now, the Meridian Complex remains in Republic hands and Imperial forces have withdrawn from Corellian space. But after years of relative recovery, the battle has delivered a stark reminder that the galaxy's latest war may have only just begun.
